Our favorite satay. Satay Mengkuang. Loved it so much. Why? RM0.35 per stick! And look at those yummy pieces. Big pieces I might add!
Satay Mengkuang is not something new. We had been enjoying this since I was in high school, in junior high to be exact. It is very convenient then because it is sold here at Taman Selasih, we don’t have to drive to Mengkuang to get it.
But when I came home in 2002, I found out that nobody sells that satay around our area. I knew of this place where my PakSu would go to get their satay fix. And he took me there once. I don’t remember the exact location of it, though I don’t bother looking, actually..
Fast forward to 2006 when we came back this time around. My husband likes to eat satay, and he made it a mission to buy satays whenever he went to any Pasar Malam. Just so happen that he chance upon this exact same place. And like everybody say, the rest is history. We had to go get our satay fix at least once a week there
A little bit out of focus there. But fast food, nonetheless. Photo taken at Pasar Malam (night market, literally translated. And it literally means that, a market during early evening until around 10 pm at night) in Kelang Lama, Kedah. About only 10-15 minutes away from my home.
For the uninitiated, Pasar Malam is similar to the regular farmer’s market. One could find fresh produce, poultry and meat, seafood, and ready cooked meals there. And in places like Kulim, this pasar malam could be found almost every night, all within 15 minutes driving from the house. If you are not a morning person (like me) and the idea of going to fresh market early in the morning puts you off (just like me), then pasar malam is definitely the place that you should be going. I could get whatever I need to cook for tomorrow tonight. Yes, I like
Don’t you just love this lovely shade of pink? I do. Though not on my home, I will admit. That is a local hotel that one could find in my local area. I noticed If not for our love for traveling, I would not be staying at any hotels much, I will admit. We usually would only stay in hotels if we were to go on long trip, like going to the European Continent. That said, who would not want to get discount hotel reservations? We, for one, would always check it out since (for people who are broke like us) we would like to assure of cheap rates and the likes.
To make things even more easier, hotelmagician.com even provided hotel maps for the users. Now tell me again, how many times had you had quarrel with your partner about certain hotel locations? Would it not be ten times easier if you could check out the location beforehand, and make sure that you could arrive there without any problems at all? I thought so.
With that in mind, again, if ease of use, discounted hotel rates, and even location maps are high up on your list of things you are looking for before booking a hotel room, this one is definitely for you. Then don’t wait, go book your hotel room now!

This was delicious. This was disastrous. Cubed the beef trifle bit too big. The beef was chewy. Other than that, it was yummy. Ah well… At least it looked good here, no?
I would not take the credit for this photo. All credits goes to the husband. He wanted to show me around the dam, plus he wanted to take some photos of it, too. So he then proceeded, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, under the very hot blazing sun, to take these. And I must say, they are not half as bad he he….
I never realize how pleasing this place is until now. I know I should, try to get to this place and walk around the dam, that is. One of these days, especially since Adik is around…

But seriously, I do not know what I would do without a secure IBackup - Online Backup and Storage since Tia seemed to LOVE typing on the keyboard. And it seems that she love to hit on the delete button, too. And true, I had usually forgotten to take the laptop inside the room, so come morning time, sometimes I would wake up to click clicking on the keyboard…. *sigh*….
Part whichever, I don’t recall. But this is actually not taken randomly. I purposely had taken lots of photo of this burger stall, not only because I knew the owner (or his wife rather), but because this stall had seen a lot of history taking place in our very small little town.
This stall had been there 15 years ago when I was still in high school (which reminds me, komander, hang senior aku kat sekolah ka? Kalau ya, please contact me at marlinda at marlindaradzi dot com), it saw me waiting for the bus with friends some nights (when mom couldn’t come and pick me up). It saw the development taking over the old bus stand, and now two very big office building stood proud where the old bus stand was at.
It witnessed people growing up. Most customers that they had are recurring. And most people our age that go there, we knew. This is, after all, a very small town. Some people go away. Lots of ‘em stay. We are staying for the time being…….
And oh… it stood in front of another. Called Kedai Borong Man. Or what my Adik called as, Kedai Bearoman… tee hee….
Or la dulce pie? Tee hee.. I know my spanish sucks. I have to keep on pimping this cake. It is just too yummy. There’s still couple of slices in the fridge. Won’t last for too long, I will have to say.
Thanks babe for your reply about pricing, cut et all. Appreciate it much. I hope little Aina is feeling better now, ya? Nanti auntie mar boleh belajar bake more cakes with your mommy, yes sweetheart?
I don’t drink. So I had never been drunk by alcoholic consumption anytime in my life. But, I do know people who had been an alcoholic some point or the other in their lifetime. And I know how hard it is to combat.
But what about casual drinker? Casual drinker who became drunk. What should they do, especially when it comes to operating a vehicle?
Well, with that in mind, what would you think were you to encounter this new product, Coin operated alcohol breath testing on your way out from the club? What would your reaction be? I for one feel that is an excellent device for anyone to test whether they are sober enough to drive them, and their friends home.
Think of all the lives that could be saved, just by operating the coin machine on your way home from that night out….
